Job description

This role offers the opportunity to support the commercial teams' at WHSmith. You’ll be at the forefront of supporting the team during the implementation of a new supplier income management system while delivering accuracy and supporting the Buying teams to deliver maximum value from supplier partnerships.

The Commercial Assistant will work closely with Buying and Finance teams, ensuring that support is given for supplier contracts, supplier income and the accurate alignment in the raising and managing of deals in the Supplier Income Management System.

What you will be doing:
  • Supporting the commercial teams load and record supplier deals on the income management system
  • Record and update tracking files for all supplier information, contracts and commercial income agreements
  • Document, store and organise evidenced retail and media marketing activity
  • Work closely with the Finance teams to ensure accuracy of files for supplier income
  • Running ad-hoc data and analysis
  • Recommend continuous improvement to our processes & new systems
  • Build strong relationships with Buying and Finance teams
  • Support Buying teams with use of the new Income management tool
What we are looking for:
  • Either degree level or Retail/Admin experience
  • Computer literate – experience using Microsoft Office (Excel)
  • Excellent Admin and organisational ability
  • Resilient and adaptable in a fast paced environment

  • Ability to demonstrate problem solving skills
