About the Role - Coachbuilder

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Coachbuilder to join our busy mechanical engineering team in Basildon. We'll provide your overalls and equipment needed to get the job done. This is a great opportunity to work on our state-of-the-art electric bus fleet!

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting accident bodywork repairs
  • Window repairs
  • Diagnosing body faults
  • Performing collision and vandalism repairs
  • Addressing routine inspection findings and defect cards
  • Painting minor bodywork repairs
  • Handling fibreglass bodywork
  • Carrying out repairs and maintenance to interior body components
  • Documenting repairs for third-party insurance claims

Working Hours

39 hours per week, 4 days over 7, day shift - working days can be discussed at interview

Salary

£23.69 p/h £48,043 p/a with a weekend premium rate of £24.72 per hour if your shifts run over a weekend

About you
  • Do you have a minimum level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent, with proven coach building experience?
  • Do you have welding experience?
  • Full driving licence is preferred
  • Have you working experience in vehicle accident repair and painting for PSV/HGV vehicles?
  • A PCV licence isn't essential, we can support you in gaining it
