A prominent healthcare organization in Portsmouth is seeking a Clinical Trials Assistant to join their research team. In this role, you will assist in the delivery of research studies, ensuring smooth operations and optimal patient care. Ideal candidates will have NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, with strong communication and IT skills. Full training will be provided, and phlebotomy skills are a plus. This position offers a full-time, permanent contract with a competitive salary.

As a Clinical Trials Assistant, you will play a vital role in the successful delivery of research studies from start‑up through to completion. Your responsibilities will include patient identification, recruitment, and follow‑up, ensuring trials run smoothly and patients receive the highest standard of care. Full study‑specific training will be provided to equip you with the skills and confidence needed to support our research nurse teams.
Working as a partnership, both Isle of Wight NHS Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust have a shared vision for excellence in care for our patients and communities; with a set of strategic aims underpinning how we will achieve this. The single corporate service is delivered across both organisation. You may be based at either IWT or PHU and individuals may be required to undertake business travel between sites.
Additional details:
Phlebotomy skills are desirable but not essential; training will be provided. Previous research experience is an advantage but not required, as comprehensive in‑house training and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification will be offered.
