Job description
Overview

The Fife Area-Wide Psychology Service is a large Service comprising a range of clinical and health specialties, with extensive involvement in training, research and service development. Close links with Edinburgh, Stirling, Dundee and St. Andrews Universities’ D. Clin.Psych and MSc courses continue and your professional development, CPD and research initiatives will be well supported.

We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist to join our Lifespan Learning Disability Psychology Team. A 1.0 permanent post is available to work across inpatient and community services. The role will provide clinical sessions to the Managed Clinical Network forensic low secure unit and for community and inpatient assessment and treatment services for people with learning disabilities who experience complex mental health difficulties or have complex presentations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist psychological assessment and treatments for patients presenting with a range of psychological difficulties.
  • Contribute to the development of the service and the development of evidence‑based practice.
  • Collaborate with clinical psychologists, assistant psychologists and other multidisciplinary team members.
  • Play an active part in the Area Psychology Service, seeking research and professional development opportunities.
  • Deliver group work, teaching and training and engage in partnership work with other agencies.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Expertise in delivering effective interventions for a range of mental health problems and presentations.
  • Training or experience in the psychological aspects of learning disabilities and risk assessment is an advantage.
  • Will become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
  • Must have the right to work in the United Kingdom (or be eligible for sponsorship) before applying.
