Role Summary

In this influential role, you’ll combine clinical practice with academic excellence—delivering innovative teaching, conducting impactful research, and mentoring future talent. As a practising GP, you’ll remain rooted in patient care while helping to redesign services across sectors.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership across all aspects of primary care research, including academic direction, performance management, operational delivery and compliance.
  • Maintain a proven track record of high‑quality research outputs and collaborate effectively with academic, clinical and voluntary and community sector partners.
  • Advocate for the importance of food, diet and nutrition, or utilising large datasets to maintain health and prevent disease, and partner with the Quadram Institute.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Practical experience as a GP with protected time allocated for clinical practice and maintaining professional registration.
  • Academic expertise and proven research excellence in primary care.
  • Strong collaboration skills with primary care organisations, NHS Trusts, academic institutions, local authorities, and community organisations.
