A leading health service provider in Birmingham is seeking a motivated individual to improve health outcomes for people with Learning Disabilities and Autism. In this role, you will lead training development and support clinical teams in maintaining high standards of care for these populations. Ideal candidates will have experience in health education and a passion for enhancing community wellbeing. This position offers a competitive salary and generous benefits including annual leave and professional development opportunities.
Do you have a passion for reducing Health Inequalities for people with Learning Disabilities and Autistic people?
The LeDeR Report 2025 (actually flagged as 2023 data and published in late 2025) from NHS England confirms people with Learning Disabilities and Autistic People still die prematurely from avoidable causes.
Epilepsy and Learning Disabilities frequently co‑occur, with about 1 in 5 people with a Learning Disability also having epilepsy, and this risk increases with the severity of the Learning Disability.
We are looking for a motivated individual with experience of working with people with Learning Disabilities and/or Autistic People and skills and interest in teaching staff to gain the knowledge and competence to ensure that Epilepsy and Long Term Health conditions are managed effectively.
You will work closely with our physical health team including Advanced Clinical Practitioners, the Practice Nurse team and a Dietitian and will support both inpatient and community Learning Disability and Autism services.
At Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT), we deliver a wide range of physical, mental health, learning disability and autism services, and are proud to serve communities across Coventry, Simone and beyond.
We put ‘people at our heart’; this ethos is at the centre of everything we do and how we do it. We care for our staff and colleagues as much as they care for others and offer a wide range of benefits and development opportunities.
We’re always on the lookout for people who share our passion for improving the lives and wellbeing of people in our community, as well as our values of compassion, collaboration, excellence, integrity and respect.
