We are currently recruiting for Site Supervisors to join our team, delivering exceptional customer service and innovative operational solutions across Yorkshire. About the Role
As a Site Supervisor, you will:
- Lead operational teams within a defined catchment, ensuring seamless end-to-end management of all works while delivering an exceptional customer journey. You will ensure everyone within your team is performing their responsibilities. Your responsibilities will also include carrying out site inspections, coordinating crews from your depot, managing fleet issues, and evaluating employee performance.
- Work with the Senior Management Team, Client, and Local Authority to agree on the extent of works and maintain relationships throughout.
- Maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing concerns or requests promptly and professionally.
- Encourage and enable personal development.
- Work closely with planning and scheduling teams for resource allocation, job prioritisation, and workforce coordination.
- Ensure all work complies with Lanes Group and customer standards, policies, and procedures.
- Lead and control Civils Operatives and Gangers involved in civil works, optimising resources with scheduling team support.
- Manage fleet/plant and material requirements for efficient completion of works, demonstrating good organisational skills and developing improvements where necessary.
- Produce method statements and procedures, reading and understanding specifications, drawings, and engineering documentation, keeping records of all work.
- Ensure real-time updates of client systems.
- Develop excellent working relationships with workforce, department personnel, and client management, commanding respect.
- Communicate confidently with internal and external clients.
- Give clear instructions to the workforce and manage daily team activities.
- Read and interpret drawings, including excavation dimensions, pipe and rebar angles, concrete mixes, and shoring designs.
- Supply crews with tools, equipment, and materials, preventing wastage and misuse, and supervising work to optimise manpower and materials, exercising discipline to prevent absenteeism, unsafe practices, and idleness.
- Enforce all HS&E and Quality procedures and regulations strictly.
- Oversee the well-being of teams, identify training needs, and implement training programs.
- Maintain the highest safety standards during all work stages to prevent incidents or accidents.
About You
We are looking for individuals who:
- Have previous supervision experience within the Waste Water Industry.
- Hold a full UK driving license.
- Have managerial experience, as this role involves managing people and teams.
- Possess excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks.
- Have exceptional customer service skills.
- Manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate strong leadership qualities to motivate teams and achieve targets.
- Are proactive problem-solvers focused on results.
- Have proven supervisory experience within the Utilities Sector, preferably in Drainage.
Working Hours & Location
- Shift pattern: Monday to Friday, 47.5 hours per week.
- Location: Malton and surrounding regional areas.
- Salary: £38,000 - £42,000.
- Company Car / Car allowance.
- 25 days holiday plus Bank holidays.
