Team Leader – Children’s Residential Home | Nights | Newmarket | £15.69 per hour Full-time & Part-time Opportunities Available

Are you a caring, motivated who wants to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people? We’re supporting a respected residential care provider that is seeking an experienced Team Leader to join their night team. If you have strong leadership skills and a genuine passion for helping young people with complex needs, this could be an excellent next step.

About the Role

As a Children’s Residential Team Leader you will play a key part in creating a safe and nurturing environment. You’ll work night shifts from 8:00 PM to 8:30 AM and support young people facing ongoing mental health challenges.

You will guide a team of Residential Support Workers and ensure that each young person receives high‑quality care. In addition, you will help maintain stability in the home, promote emotional wellbeing, and encourage positive development. Your work will directly support children as they grow, heal and build confidence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, support and motivate a team of Residential Support Workers.
  • Ensure high standards of care for all children and young people.
  • Promote independence, emotional resilience and social growth.
  • Oversee care plans, risk assessments and essential records.
  • Manage safeguarding concerns and respond appropriately.
  • Provide training, supervision and guidance to staff.
  • Work closely with families and external professionals to ensure consistent support.
About You

You are calm, confident and compassionate. You enjoy helping young people and you understand the importance of clear boundaries and supportive care. You also have strong communication skills and a positive, solutions‑focused mindset.

You’ll need:
  • Experience in residential childcare or a similar care environment.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification (or willingness to work towards it).
  • Good knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
