The Church at Junction 10, Walsall

Hours: 18.5 hours per week (Hybrid/Flexible Working Optional)

Salary: £11,880 – £13,500 per annum (pro rata of FTE £23,760 – £27,000)

Reports to: Leadership Team Member

Are you passionate about seeing children encounter the love of God and grow as lifelong disciples of Jesus? The Church at Junction 10 is seeking a dynamic, Spirit‑filled Children’s Ministry Pastor to lead and grow our thriving ministry for children from Reception to Year 6.

Our Kids Church meets on Sunday mornings during the service and usually has 10 – 20, 3‑11 years old children per week. The activities are currently supported by volunteers and interns who are part of a team where we hold our Sunday Services at Grace Academy Darlaston.

About the Role

You will:

  • Lead, shape, and grow a vibrant children’s ministry rooted in Scripture and open to the Holy Spirit.
  • Build and equip a strong volunteer team and manage an intern programme.
  • Create safe, welcoming, and joy‑filled environment—especially on Sundays—where children can worship, pray, and minister in the gifts.
  • Partner with parents and carers, building bridges into families and the wider community.
  • Oversee safeguarding, administration, and budget for the ministry.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a clear discipleship pathway for children.
  • Design and oversee engaging Sunday programmes and special events.
  • Recruit, train, and pastor volunteers and interns.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers.
  • Collaborate with church leaders, local schools, and community partners.
  • Uphold best practice in safeguarding and church policies.
About You
  • Relevant qualification in children/community work (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience leading or serving in children’s/family ministry (paid or voluntary).
  • A committed Christian, actively participating in church life, with a heart for discipling children.
  • Able to work collaboratively, motivate others, and communicate effectively with children and adults from diverse backgrounds.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
  • Satisfactory Enhanced DBS Certificate required.
