Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated band 6 practitioner to join the Leeds Childrens and Young Persons Community Eating Disorder Service. The post holder will work as part of a dynamic and busy service as part of a full multidisciplinary team.

We are a citywide multidisciplinary team from a range of backgrounds, including psychiatry, nursing, psychology, paediatrics, social work and dietetics. We provide specialist assessment and intervention for young people up to the age of 18 and their families. We are exploring innovative ways of working through the development of new treatment pathways and are committed to going beyond expectations in engaging and supporting our families and young people.

If you have previous experience of working with individuals with an eating disorder or are highly motivated with a passion to learn new skills and work with young people with an eating-disorders and their families then please get in contact with us. Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work independently and with the wider staff team along with young people and their families. The role will provide general and advanced support and interventions in order to enhance the patient journey by improving the provision of nutrition and care in addition to facilitating service efficiency and positive outcomes.

You will join a multi-disciplinary team which provides professional support and offers collaborative working. You will be welcomed into a service which prioritises reflective practice, clinical supervision and continuing professional development.

Main duties will include

  • Delivery of treatment pathways including FT-AN as a core treatment as well as CBT‑E and individualised therapies to point of discharge. Training will be provided.
  • Work closely with colleagues in CAMHS, schools and local medical services.
  • Ensuring a close working relationship and effective communication with partner services delivering inpatient services.
  • Support junior staff, provide regular supervision and training as appropriate.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continued development of the service.
