A children's service organization in Sunderland seeks a Child and Family Worker to ensure the safety and positivity of family time between cared-for children and their families. The role requires a relevant Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Social Care and experience working with children. You will facilitate supervised sessions, provide emotional support, and help families thrive. The position offers an annual salary of £31,022 - £33,699 and includes hybrid working arrangements.
Grade 5 (SCP 17-22) £31,022 - £33,699 per annum
Mon – Fri 10am – 6pm - Occasional weekends as and when required.

The Family Time Service aims to facilitate safe, positive and purposeful family time between cared for children, their parents & family and to ensure that the child or young person is safeguarded during the supervised family time session.
We are seeking to recruit 1 permanent, full time Child & Family Worker to facilitate supervised family time sessions on behalf of Together For Children. Applicants must hold a relevant Level 3 qualification, NVQ3 or above in Childcare, Social care or equivalent and have a current driving licence with access to and use of a motor vehicle to transport children to and from family time sessions, for which they will receive a monthly essential car user allowance.
You will have knowledge and understanding of Children’s Social Care procedures, safeguarding procedures, knowledge of social, emotional and developmental needs of young people and have a commitment to achieving the best outcomes for children & their parents and their families.
You will have experience of working with children in need and their families, working in a team, have good communication skills and customer service. You must be able to demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills, report writing and recording skills.
You must be comfortable working at pace within a busy team environment, manage work demands, be self‑motivated and committed to excellent work practice. Experience of working previously in a Social Care environment would be an advantage.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore will be subject to an enhanced DBS check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
