Chassis Pipes Senior Engineer – Tata Technologies

THE ROLE
Reporting to the Chassis Systems Delivery Manager, we are seeking an experienced and driven Chassis Pipes Senior Engineer to lead the integration, end‑to‑end delivery and application of hydraulic pipework into a Suspension System on an exciting product. This is a customer and supplier interfacing role and will represent the team in multiple forums with accountability for hardware delivery on a key project for the Client.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the delivery of hydraulic pipework onto a Suspension System for a customer’s vehicle line, ensuring alignment with program milestones, cost targets and quality & technical requirements.
- Own and deliver the Hardware Engineering Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) deliverables.
- Own the system‑level definition, architecture and integration of the selected suspension components (e.g. pipes and associated brackets).
- Manage Change Requests, expenditure forecasting and the relevant supplier teams in support of delivery of the programme milestones.
- Manage the Client and supplier rig test plans, including detailed planning of test and development stages through to sign‑off and support Engineering test teams with rectification of issues.
- Support build and manufacturing teams throughout the program.
- Lead and own any problem resolution activities related to the Hydraulic transfer hardware (as attributed by your group leader).
- Identify process, component or design requirement improvements and implement them.
- Undertake any other work as directed by line manager in connection with the job, e.g. keep all Module documentation up to date including meeting minutes and integration point plans.
Knowledge / Experience
- Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering Degree, or equivalent industrial experience.
- Experienced in delivery of hydraulic components and/or systems.
- Experienced in development and delivery of mechanical components.
- Ability to negotiate technical solutions within a multi‑disciplinary team and manage conflict while balancing opposing programme demands.
- Experience of processes including WERS/iCREATE releasing, AIM, APQP, FMEA, RMDV.
- Ability to manage supplier and supporting team members.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Component and system‑level issue investigations using appropriate problem‑solving and reporting tools (Six Sigma, 5D, Is/Is Not, Fault Tree, etc).
- Knowledge of the impact and ability of semi‑active and active suspension technologies on vehicle dynamics.
- Experience in mechatronic component‑level NVH and EMC related issues and resolutions.
