# Catering Assistant (Part-Time)Ref no:: WDN06226Published:: 15/12/2025Closes:: 28/12/2025Location:: Queens Quay House, Queens Quay House Care Home, Main Avenue, Queens Quay, Clydebank, G81 1BSSalary:: £25,310.84 - £26,873.48 per year dependent on experienceContract Type:: PermanentPosition Type:: Part TimeHours:: 35 hours per week## Job DescriptionThis is a part-time post the salary will be pro-rata'd to the hours worked.The catering assistant will undertake, under the general direction of the cook or catering manager, the preparation, simple cooking and serving of food within the required areas in a residential care home. Duties will include basic food and beverage preparation (for example preparation of vegetables and snacks), simple cooking (for example reconstruction/heating of prepared food), serving of meals, general kitchen and serving duties (for example washing up, setting up and clearing away equipment and hot trollies) and the cleaning of the kitchen its surrounds and equipment.You must have the ability to relate to older people and the ability to work within a team and on your own initiative.## RequirementsThis post is considered as Regulated Work with Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential.
