Description

Join our dynamic team as a Capability Analyst on a 12-month fixed-term contract, where you'll play a crucial role in bridging the gap between our business and the Capability Development team. Your expertise in People data analysis will provide timely and detailed insights, empowering our stakeholders to make informed, development‑related business decisions in an ever‑changing landscape.

As a Capability Analyst you'll be responsible for creating and maintaining engaging and effective reports and dashboards that drive strategic decision making and improve People capabilities within the Commercial COO and Claims functions. You'll be the main point of contact to the COO Capability team, providing data and insights support through the data you have collected, analysed and interpreted to help improve development activities.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40 %) away from home, moving to three days a week (60 %) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Contribute to building and delivering a platform similary for early warning indicators that identify trends in People performance.
  • Support the strategic goals of the Commercial Lines business by delivering automated Power BI reports and self‑service dashboards on claims performance.
  • Assist in developing strategic plans by analysing people performance indicators, such as QA, learning engagement, speed to competence and more.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders in the UK People Team, Learning & Development, Insights and Claims.
  • Lead the regular analysis of competency‑related data and insights to draw out opportunities for value‑add competency initiatives.
  • Provide monthly updates to stakeholders by extrapolating trends and patterns from emerging data using analytical skills and judgement.
What you’ll bring:
  • Proven analytical knowledge and skills to support data analysis, gained through working in a People‑focused reporting or analytics environment.
  • Knowledge of commercial insurance would be advantageous.
  • You'll have data visualisation skills, with the ability to spot trends and underlying root causes.
  • Experience of implementing and managing effective processes to provide regular quality MI updates to the business.
  • Expert knowledge in Microsoft Excel and Access, as well as in date warehousing technology specifically Power BI, Azure and Data Lake.
  • Proficient in negotiation and influencing skills, with excellent relationship‑management capabilities.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and commitment to meet deadlines.
  • You'll have a creative and innovative approach with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tell a story, using data, to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre‑employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
