A leading security and rehabilitation service provider in Wellingborough is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join their team. You will be responsible for maintaining locks at HMP Five Wells and ensuring the safety and integrity of structures. The ideal candidate has proven experience with carpentry, proficiency in tools, and strong organizational skills. This role offers a supportive environment with competitive salary and benefits.
Location: G4S Care & Rehabilitation Services, HMP Five Wells, Wellingborough, NN8 2NG.
Salaried at £32,393.60 per annum plus call‑out allowance. Permanent, full‑time (40 hours per week).

Reporting to the Lead Engineer, a full‑time Carpenter will join the FM team, delivering and managing all locks at HMP Five Wells. Responsible for construction, installation and repair of wooden and structural elements, ensuring structural integrity and safety.
Proven experience as a carpenter or in a similar role; proficiency with hand and power tools; strong knowledge of safety standards and procedures. Flexible, adaptable to ever‑changing scenarios; strong organisational and communication skills; experience working in a fast‑paced environment. Must be able to lift heavy materials.
Secure, supportive, professional working environment with comprehensive training and development. Call‑out allowance: £100 standby, £85 call‑out, £20 per hour for any hours over 4 hours. Access to advanced tools.
