Job description

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic caretaker to support Whitcliffe Mount with its daily premises needs.

This role provides a comprehensive, customer-led premises service to the academy through the efficient and effective running of maintenance operations. The successful candidate will ensure that the site and its building are efficiently operated on a day-to-day basis to the standards required by the Head of School and the central premises & compliance team, fulfilling all Health and Safety Legislation.

Hours: 20 hours per week, all year round.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Ability to work in an environment of constant change and pressure where an amount of personal decision-making and judgement is required;
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal communication skills in order to liaise with young people and other staff members;
  • Commitment to the safeguarding of children;
  • Ability to work with a wide range of people of all ages from different backgrounds with different needs and to respond accordingly to support those needs;
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and relevant COSHH and ESCC regulations;
  • A willingness to undertake further development/training as appropriate.
