Job Summary

We’re looking for a determined, creative and resilient individual to lead on securing sponsorship and external funding to support some of Cambridge’s most iconic cultural events, including the Cambridge Folk Festival, Cambridge Corn Exchange and Guildhalls programme, and the City Events programme.

Job Description

You’ll take ownership of identifying and approaching potential sponsors and funders, developing proposals, and building meaningful partnerships that help sustain and grow these much-loved events. Working closely with event leads, the Audience Development Officer, the Creative Partnership team and others, you’ll also identify potential grant funders and lead on the development of successful bids.

As our in‑house expert in fundraising and sponsorship, you’ll provide advice and support to managers and colleagues across the service, helping to shape our approach to partnership working and income generation.

You’ll bring experience in sponsorship, fundraising or partnership development, ideally within the arts, culture or events sectors. Most importantly, you’ll be passionate about community events in Cambridge and driven to make a real difference, helping ensure the city’s festivals and programmes continue to thrive and inspire for years to come.

Hours & Working Pattern: 29.6 Hours (4 days a week)

Job Responsibilities
  1. Working with the Marketing and Communications Manager, developing a fundraising and sponsorship strategy, with annual delivery plans for each programme area.
  2. Working within the parameters agreed in the strategy and delivery plans, identify and negotiate agreements with high-value sponsors for major events, ensuring at all times that the event leads are involved and engaged in this process.
  3. Work with the 3C Legal Team to put in place signed contracts with sponsors.
  4. Monitor the delivery of obligations to sponsors, including existing high-level sponsors, liaising with marketing and events teams as necessary.
  5. Identify potential grant funders and lead the development of proposals, working with event leads, the audience development officer, arts development team and others as appropriate.
