Overview

Falkirk Science Festival is returning for its fourth year from 4 May to 19 May 2024. We are seeking new content for a range of events and strands. If you have engaged audiences in other cities with your science communication and want to share your discoveries, consider Falkirk. Last year our Science Festival attracted an audience of 5,000.

We’re looking for content for talks, workshops, walks, and evening shows across the festival’s unique spaces in Falkirk.

Strands & Events

• INNOVATE — 11am–3pm, Saturday 4 May 2024, Zetland Park. Audience: families with young children (3 yrs+). Open day for science activities; outdoor activities preferred; gazebos can be provided.
• SCIENCE IN A KELPIE — any date between 21 Apr and 19 May, The Kelpies, The Helix. Audience: Adults and young adults (12 yrs+). Talks or activities inside a Kelpie; includes talks or workshops relating to construction.
• STEP BACK IN SCIENCE — date to be advised. Contact Lynsey.
• SCIENCE RAMBLES (working title) — any date between 9 and 23 May. Location: Callendar, Kinneil, Helix, or Muiravonside. Audience: adults and/or families.
• STEM@TheHelix OPEN DAY — 11am–4pm, Saturday 11 May, The Helix Park. Hands-on STEM activities; email Lynsey for participation.
• WILD SCIENCE — 11am–3pm, Saturday 19 May, Muiravonside Country Park. Open day for ecology and zoology; outdoor activities.
