Business Development Consultant - Patch: Thames Valley, OnTheMarket

COSTAR GROUP – BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANT, PATCH: Thames Valley, OnTheMarket. CoStar Group acquired OnTheMarket in December 2023 to develop the UK’s number 1 Residential Property portal. Supported by CoStar and our Homes and Apartments teams, we will deliver a world-class user experience with top-quality content, imagery, design and functionality for home buyers, sellers, agents and developers.

Role Description

As a successful OnTheMarket (OTM) Business Development Consultant (BDC), you will manage, nurture and grow your existing client base with integrity. You will be part of a dynamic, motivated team that sells, trains and retains clients on the full OTM product suite. You will collaborate with a sales team on a journey to become the UK’s number 1 Residential Property portal.

Responsibilities
  • Develop business growth by sourcing, generating and building new business for OTM
  • Understand the OTM suite of products and how they best support customer needs
  • Identify new sales leads and contact potential new clients
  • Meet with new and existing clients in person
  • Negotiate business terms with new and existing clients
  • Work with senior team members to manage risks and communicate results
  • Build strong communication and product knowledge to pitch to prospective clients
  • Represent OTM by hosting and attending industry events and networking with property professionals in your market
Qualifications
  • Proven track record of sales success in online marketplaces, portals or similar B2B environments (considering other sales backgrounds)
  • Experience growing and servicing clients over the medium to long term
  • Outstanding communication, presentation and objection-handling skills with the ability to present complex proposals
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to work to metrics
  • Degree level education or equivalent experience
  • Consultative selling style with account management techniques to grow accounts
  • Strong relationship-building and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to navigate a large organisation to identify decision-makers, influencers and blockers
  • Current and valid driver’s license; willingness to undergo Driving Record check prior to start
