Job description

A Contract Business Analyst position with DV clearance is required to support a major Defence software delivery programme in a London hybrid environment outside IR35.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience translating complex business needs into concise, prioritised functional requirements for developers within agile, client‑facing teams.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with engineers, testers, product leads and end users to shape user stories, run refinement sessions and guide teams through the delivery lifecycle.
• Engage with senior stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and ensure well‑structured functional requirements.
• Operate confidently within secure Defence environments, balancing business value with delivery constraints and user expectations.

Required Skills & Experience

• Active DV clearance and recent Defence sector experience.
• Background delivering bespoke software as part of agile teams.
• Strong client‑facing consulting experience.
• Proven user story creation, backlog management and requirement refinement.
• Ability to speak with end users and translate needs into actionable requirements.
• Strong business process mapping and workshop facilitation skills.
• Effective stakeholder management with confidence to challenge when needed.
• Clear written and verbal communication and strong teamwork skills.
