Job description

We are seeking an experienced and confident Building Manager to take responsibility for the day–to–day management of a high–profile, multi–tenanted commercial building in Manchester.

This is a hands–on role requiring a robust, resilient professional who is comfortable working under pressure and capable of handling occasionally challenging conversations with occupiers, contractors, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overall operational management of a 90,000 sq ft multi–tenanted commercial building
  • Act as the primary point of contact for occupiers, delivering a high standard of customer service
  • Manage and coordinate third–party contractors, ensuring service delivery, compliance, and value
  • Oversee all Health & Safety matters, ensuring statutory and best–practice compliance
  • Carry out regular building inspections and manage remedial actions
  • Line manage one Front of House team member, with responsibility for their performance, development, and progression
  • Work closely with the on–site caf operator to ensure a positive occupier experience
  • Maintain strong relationships with occupiers and proactively manage issues and expectations
About You
  • Proven experience managing a similar commercial or multi–tenanted building
  • Robust and resilient, with the confidence to manage difficult or sensitive conversations professionally
  • An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Experienced in third–party contractor management
  • Solid Health & Safety knowledge; IOSH qualification desirable
  • Comfortable working under pressure in a customer–facing environment
  • Evidence of successfully managing and engaging with demanding customers or occupiers
  • People management experience, with a desire to develop and support team members
