Building Maintenance Engineer - Nights

Building Maintenance Engineers help maintain our automated Regional Distribution Centre in Amesbury, Wiltshire, a purpose built one million square foot site which supports our plans to grow from 580 to 1,000 stores.

As a Building Maintenance Engineer you are responsible for the continuous running of site facilities; maintaining equipment to a high standard, in turn reducing production downtime.

For this recruitment campaign, we are looking for an experienced engineer with an electrical bias or mechanical bias.

Job Overview
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety and security
  • Work at height
  • Maintain automated doors and dock levers to reduce downtime
  • Maintain stock moving equipment
  • Keep maintenance software up to date
  • Organise maintenance between production requirements
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with good practice, relevant legislation and company standards
  • Both electrical and mechanical skills
  • Experience and knowledge of building services and facilities engineering
  • Qualified in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and able to read electrical and mechanical drawing
  • Understand hydraulics and pneumatics
  • A confident communicator with excellent organisational and problem solving skills and a real 'can do' attitude
  • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship desirable

  • Experience with maintenance software
  • Recognised engineering apprenticeship or similar is desirable
