Band 7 Neuro Physiotherapist

We are seeking an experienced Band 7 Physiotherapist to join our Neuro Outpatient service. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a leadership role within a small cruiser Minister friendly supportive team, working with a mixed case load of patients.

You will provide clinical expertise, guidance, and supervision to colleagues, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient‑centred care. You will play a key role in service development, supporting innovation and best practice in neuro outpatient care.

Main duties of the job
  • To use expert knowledge and skills in the assessment, treatment and management of patients with highly complex disabilities due to neurological conditions. This requires in‑depth understanding and expert knowledge of a wide range of neurological pathologies, including FND and vestibular conditions.
  • To manage, monitor and develop the outpatient physiotherapy neurology service using clinical and management expertise.
  • To be responsible for own specialist caseload and that of the team under your direct supervision.
  • To share expertise in an advisory and teaching role for the specialty of neurology across GWH.

Job responsibilities
  • The post-holder is a recognised source of clinical expertise/advice and guidance within an area of speciality for senior physiotherapy colleagues working within their immediate service area.
  • To ensure a high standard of care for the patients under your care and that of the staff under your direct supervision.
  • To undertake highly skilled and clinically advanced interventions for own caseload of patients with highly complex disabilities.
  • As part of clinical work provides guidance and advice on complex cases to senior physiotherapists. Accepts patients with complex needs referred to them from senior physiotherapy colleagues.

  • Post graduate courses relevant to neuro
  • Member of relevant vestibular special interest groups e.g. ACPIVR
Experience
  • Experience at Band 6 of neurological outpatients sorti, including complex case management, assessment and treatment of a variety of neurological conditions including FND.
  • Advanced and expert assessment skills
  • Advanced Clinical Reasoning skills
  • Experience in service evaluation and service development
  • Experience of supervising staff, assistant staff and students
  • Experience at Band 6 of neurological outpatients patients, including complex case management, assessment and treatment of vestibular conditions.
  • Previous experience in extended role practitioner post
  • Completion of post graduate courses in Vestibular Rehabilitation
