Department: Restaurants

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Queensway - Restaurant

Reporting To: Shift Supervisor

Compensation: £12.50 / hour

Description

Full-time & Part-time roles available

We are looking for passionate, hardworking and Italy-loving Back of House Team Members who can help us to create exceptional dining experiences at our new Queensway fresh pasta restaurant. You won’t just be behind the scenes prepping, cleaning, and cooking (though that’s a huge part of it!). You’ll help bring to life an environment where world‑class pasta and vibrant Italian energy meet exceptional hospitality — all starting from the kitchen.

Picture this: we’ll have chefs making fresh pasta in the window of the store to entice the good people of Queensway in. There’ll be the hippest Italian funk and jazz on stereo, the smell of ragù in the air, fresh pasta making classes in-store, and much more.

As a Back of House Team Member, your role is all about creating delightful food for our customers. We want to hear from candidates who ooze passion, love to cook, are confident, charming & wear an easy smile with customers, and who want to be part of our exceptional new fresh pasta concept coming to Queensway. If that sounds like you, we wanted to hear from you yesterday. So, as our Roman ancestors might have said, carpe diem. Show us your soul.

Opening hours:

Monday to Thursday, 11am to 11.30pm.

Friday: 11:00am to 12:00am

Sunday: 11:00 am to 10:30 pm.

What you'll do at Pasta Evangelists:
  • Prepare & plate our fresh pasta dishes (and other edible delights) to our high standards that will delight our guests.
  • Prepare orders for dine‑in and delivery swiftly and accurately, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for every guest.
  • Follow our treasured recipes and techniques to ensure every dish meets our high standards.
  • Help prepare and portion fresh ingredients, sauces, and pasta according to the guidelines.
  • We take health and safety seriously, because nothing ruins a great day at work like a trip hazard or a missing spatula. You'll play your part in keeping our workplace safe, clean, and compliant, so everyone goes home happy!
  • Stock and organise storage areas and fridges to ensure smooth kitchen operation.
  • Wash pots, pans, utensils and other kitchen equipment efficiently.
  • Keep an eye on our ingredient supplies and let the shift manager know if we’re running low on anything essential.
  • Assist in maintaining kitchen equipment and tools, ensuring they are in excellent condition and report any issues to the manager on duty.
  • Follow all food and health & safety guidelines to keep both customers and colleagues safe.
  • Work quickly and efficiently to support service — the kitchen relies on your pace and attention to detail.
  • Take part in team meetings and training sessions, bringing your ideas and enthusiasm.
  • Support your colleagues, especially during busy times, and be willing to take on additional tasks as required.
Who you are:
  • Prior experience as a kitchen porter, back of house team member, or similar is a plus, but a passion for Italian cuisine is what truly matters.
  • You’re reliable, hardworking, and love being part of a busy, dynamic kitchen environment.
  • You understand (and care about) food hygiene and health & safety practices.
  • You work well under pressure and can juggle multiple tasks calmly.
  • You’re flexible and available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • You have strong attention to detail and pride in doing things properly.
  • You’re a team player who’s always happy to help.
  • Bonus point! Any experience in coffee, wine, and pasta would be advantageous, but it’s your zest for life that we are looking for.
  • … If you dream in pasta shapes, you're in the right place.
What we can offer:
  • Competitive salary to attract the best talent
  • Join a dynamic, fast‑moving & diverse team
  • Join a growing business with growing opportunities
  • 28 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays)
  • Complementary staff food & drinks while on shift
