Job summary

A dynamic engineering company in Southampton seeks an Automation Engineer to join their Engineering team. The role involves conducting site surveys, selecting equipment, and defining control system documentation. The ideal candidate will have experience as an Automation/Controls Engineer and excellent interpersonal skills. Qualifications

  • Experience working as an Automation/Controls Engineer.
  • Relevant engineering qualification or significant relevant experience.
  • Onsite Fault Finding and Modification of Electrical Control Systems desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Pre-Contract Site Surveys.
  • Select and purchase equipment.
  • Define control system documentation (FDS, SDS, FAT, SAT).
  • Create Risk Assessments and Method Statements.

Job description

Due to continued growth, we are now recruiting for an Automation Engineer to join our talented Engineering team at Head Office in Southampton.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Pre-Contract Site Surveys
  • Equipment Selection and Purchasing
  • Definition of control system documentation (FDS, SDS, FAT, SAT)
  • Creation of Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Site Progress Reports and other paperwork
  • Configuration and programming of multiple PLC, HMI, SCADA and telemetry systems including:
  • Mitsubishi (A, FX and Q range, Mitsubishi HMIs (Beijer)

Skills/Background:

  • A relevant degree or by experience
  • A background of working as an Automation/Controls Engineer
  • Client facing with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Hard working and self-motivated
  • Hands-on electrical skills/qualifications are desirable but not essential
  • Either relevant engineering qualification or by experience
  • Onsite Fault Finding and Modification of Electrical Control Systems desirable but not essential
  • Experience of telemetry outstations such as the Serck PX24, Schneider Talus T4e & Seprol S2000 would be desirable, but not essential
