Job description
Associate - SHE Reg – Clyde & Co

We are looking for a solicitor (2‑5 years PQE) to join our specialist Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Regulatory Department in the Manchester office. This is a unique opportunity to work within an expanding, multi‑award‑winning firm, and to practice regulatory law in a truly corporate environment. The role requires regular communication with clients nationally and a supportive, collaborative team working in a modern, flexible environment.

Responsibilities
  • Represent clients subject to investigations and prosecutions relating to Health & Safety, Food safety, Fire safety, Motor Prosecutions and Environmental crime.
  • Provide national coverage for a blend of corporate and insurer‑backed clients.
  • Prepare and progress cases from early investigative stages through the enforcement process, and ultimately to conclusion before the Criminal Courts.
  • Represent clients before the Coroners Court when required.
  • Communicate with clients regularly nationwide and support them across England and Wales.
Qualifications
  • 2‑5 years PQE as a solicitor (guide).
  • Experience in Health & Safety, Environmental Crime, Motor Crime, or Fire Safety.
  • Bright, ambitious, determined and adaptable in a demanding, fast‑paced team.
  • Willing and available to travel anywhere in England and Wales and possess a full driving licence.
  • Enjoy being challenged by complex legal issues and expanding knowledge.
  • Confident and effective communicator.
  • Focused on delivering a highly professional service to clients, including compliance with client Service Level Agreements and Management Information requirements.
