Role description

This opportunity sits within the Asset Management Transformation team, part of our UK Business Advisory (Management Consulting) practice. The team focuses on enhancing the organisational maturity of clients to maximise value from their built or natural assets over the full lifecycle, supported by best practices, innovation, planning, upskilling, and data-led decision‑making that optimises outcomes for customers, stakeholders and society in a sustainable way. Our Asset Management Transformation team collaborates across Arcadis in technical, digital, commercial and other domains to deliver advisory services across infrastructure and asset types across sectors.

Responsibilities
  • Leading significant client projects and accounts from sales/bidding to solution design, activity planning, delivery, and knowledge capture; including management of multi-disciplinary teams and achieving commercial outcomes for Arcadis.
  • Diagnosing and tackling complex asset-centric issues across large-scale engagements; designing and implementing solutions that demonstrate benefits and value delivered.
  • Leading teams that use insights from markets, trends, risks and opportunities to inform solutions, recommendations and outcomes for clients and stakeholders.
  • Leading business development and sales for value propositions, including leadership of relevant bids, to contribute to growth of the Asset Management Transformation capability and the wider Business Advisory unit.
  • Managing the delivery of exceptional client experience from project mobilisation through to handover, focusing on client needs, relationships and delivering on commitments.
  • Becoming a subject matter expert and thought leader within one or more value propositions; ownership of continuous development of offerings.
  • Active involvement in the UK&I and Global asset management community of practice, supporting continuous development of solutions and delivery approaches.
  • Providing line management, coaching and mentoring to future talent within the consultant community.
  • Supporting and owning aspects of the team’s strategy and capability-building activities.
  • Supporting on-project development of team members’ skills to help them achieve career goals.
Qualifications & Experience

Whether you come from a built asset or consulting background, you will join an entrepreneurial and inclusive team that is growing fast. Ideally you will have proven experience in the natural or built asset environment, coming from an asset-owning/operating/management organisation or a consulting firm, with demonstrable experience of growing a business and building lasting client relationships.

You will also have the following key skills and expertise:

  • Demonstrable track record of leading asset management or management consulting projects in relevant sectors (Infrastructure, Transportation, Water, Energy, Utilities, Defence, etc.).
  • Being considered a thought leader in one or more asset lifecycle phases and in one or more services such as:
  • Asset management operating model design & transformation programs
  • ISO 55001 aligned asset management system development
  • Regulatory business planning and adaptive planning
  • Asset portfolio investment prioritisation & optimisation
  • Benefit-led prioritisation of asset management improvements, innovation and business change programs
  • Operational efficiency improvement
  • Asset information and data maturity improvement
  • Significant experience in business development, bidding and securing sales in a consulting environment
  • Strong understanding of typical management consulting project delivery from mobilisation to delivering client requirements
  • Exceptional communication skills with experience of developing and maintaining relationships up to senior levels (ideally including Board/Exec level)
  • Excellent team leadership, collaboration and commercial management skills
  • Ability to understand and assess business problems and propose practical improvement recommendations

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline. Relevant industry qualifications to Business Advisory or Asset Management are preferable, and/or membership of a relevant industry body, or the desire to work towards one (e.g., MCA and/or IAM).
