A local government council in North Tyneside is looking for Assistant Team Managers for their Adult Social Care Community Wellbeing Teams. This role focuses on providing support to adults with varying needs, facilitating a thriving workplace, and encouraging career development. Candidates should have a strong background in social work, reflecting strength-based and trauma-informed practices. Regular training and support are offered to ease the transition into management, while maintaining commitment to safeguarding and professional excellence.
The North Tyneside Council Adult Social Care Community Wellbeing Teams are going through an exciting redesign and expansion- including new Assistant team managers roles. If you are looking for the next step in your career, this might be the opportunity you're looking for.
The community Wellbeing Teams work with a wide range of adults who draw on care and support , including older adults, younger adults with physical disabilities, and neuro divergent people.
As well as investing in more social work post, we are also increasing the number of managers . With a smaller cohort of supervisee's, our Assistant Team managers will be enabled to provide more reflective practice, coaching, quality assurance and oversight of safeguarding and court work. We have also invested in AI to help write up supervision notes , so you can focus on supporting the team.
We have remodelled our teams to work efficiently ; the Assessment and Support Planning team specialises in providing short-term proportionate support; the CORE team focuses on longer-term collaborative risk management and trauma-informed practice, and the Review team supports people with ongoing needs, harnessing equipment and technology to promote inclusion and independence for longer. We will match you to your team based on your skills and knowledge to help you thrive.

We achieved 'Good' rating in our recent CQC inspection, which highlighted our positive organisational culture and investment in professional development.
Whether you are an experienced practice teacher , or an experienced social worker (preferably with practice educator experience) looking for their first step into management , we would like to hear from you. We provide regular peer support and CPD opportunities for the frontline managers, and a structured development programme for people coming into their first leadership role.
