Description
The Assistant Retail Pricing Manager will support the development and execution of the company's retail pricing strategy for motor insurance products. The role involves managing pricing projects, leading a small team, and collaborating with cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure pricing models are competitive, profitable, and in line with regulatory standards. This position serves as a bridge between senior leadership and analysts, playing a key role in translating strategic goals into actionable pricing initiatives.
What you'll be responsible for:
Pricing Strategy Execution
- Assist in implementing the retail pricing strategy in line with the company’s growth and profitability goals.
- Provide input into strategic decisions by analysing market trends, competitor pricing, and customer behaviour.
Analysis and Reporting
- Prepare detailed and accurate analysis of pricing changes and their impact on portfolio performance.
- Communicate insights and recommendations to senior managers through presentations and detailed reports.
Performance Monitoring
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of implemented pricing strategies, recommending adjustments to improve outcomes.
Innovation and Development
- Contribute to the development and deployment of new pricing techniques, including machine learning and automation tools.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing models, processes, and systems.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor pricing analysts, fostering their professional growth.
- Oversee the production of high‑quality pricing models and reports, ensuring adherence to timelines and accuracy.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with the Retail Pricing Manager to align on strategic goals and priorities.
- Collaborate with underwriting, marketing, and claims teams to gather insights and refine pricing recommendations.
- Act as a point of contact for internal stakeholders regarding pricing updates, methodologies, and queries.
Regulatory and Compliance Oversight
- Ensure pricing activities comply with all applicable regulations and internal policies.
- Support audits and prepare documentation for regulatory reporting as needed.
What you'll need:
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, with a solid grasp of statistical modelling and actuarial methods.
- Proficiency in pricing software and programming tools such as Excel, SQL, R, Python, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in Radar or Emblem advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex concepts to varied audiences.
- Strong project management and organisational abilities, with a capacity to handle multiple priorities effectively.
- Team leadership and mentoring capabilities to guide and develop analysts.
- Problem‑solving skills and a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset.
