Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Criterion Capital are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our in‑house commercial team. The successful candidate will play a helpful role in assisting the financial and contractual aspects of our development projects which include commercial to hotel and residential projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, manage, and monitor project budgets.
  • Conduct cost analysis and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and evaluate tenders, bills of quantities, and contracts.
  • Source and procure materials and subcontractors.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports and forecasts.
  • Manage and track project expenditures and ensure accurate cost reporting.
  • Conduct regular cost reviews and provide financial updates to senior management.
  • Administer contract terms and conditions, ensuring compliance and resolution of any issues.
  • Manage variations and changes to the project scope.
  • Prepare and issue interim and final payments to subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Identify and assess potential risks related to cost and contract management.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Work closely with project managers, site teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide support and advice on financial and contractual matters.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to decision‑making processes.
About You
  • Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within an in‑house contractor or development business.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficient in using relevant software (e.g., MS Excel, Procore, DocuSign).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
