Job description

Virtual wards are a safe and efficient alternative to NHS bedded care and support patients who would otherwise be in hospital to receive the acute care and treatment they need in their own home. This includes either preventing avoidable admissions into hospital or supporting early discharge out of hospital.

This role includes;

  • Secretarial and administrative duties to including diary management, typing patient letters and reports, note taking, preparation of agendas and associated papers.
  • Dealing with enquiries and other issues over the phone from patients and other services
  • Data entry to assist with reporting of our activity to the trust and the ICB.
  • Support with managing of devices relating to remote patient monitoring, including smart watches and phones. This will include ensuring equipment is available for the nursing team to loan to patients and management of this equipment being returned.
  • Admin support to the Clinical Nurse Managers and Lead Nurse of the AHAH service.

Applications are invited for the post of Band 3 Administrator in our integrated Virtual Ward team. We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join the Acute Hospital at Home team providing a comprehensive, effective and efficient administrative service to support the needs of this busy service. This role is for the Eastern branch of our service and is based in the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.

The post holder will be able to work under pressure, use the relevant IT systems and be able to work to deadlines to meet targets.

They will be expected to work professionally to a very high standard. Attention to detail and use of initiative is essential. The ideal candidates must have a flexible ‘can do’ attitude, the ability to use their initiative with excellent communication/interpersonal and IT skills.

The successful candidate will have strong administration and organisational skills, exemplary attention to detail, a passion for excellence and an ability to work well within a team.

Working Pattern:18.5 hours per week. Alternating Monday and Tuesdays one week, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday the next week.
