Role Overview

As a Remote Accounts Assistant, you’ll support the finance function by managing bookkeeping, reconciliations, VAT returns, payroll coordination, and financial reporting. You’ll work closely with senior accountants and contribute to maintaining accurate and compliant financial records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Record income, expenses, bank transactions, and petty cash
  • Reconcile bank statements and supplier/customer accounts
  • Process invoices, payments, and receipts
  • Maintain accounting systems (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
  • Assist with VAT returns and payroll preparation
  • Prepare management accounts and financial reports
  • Support year-end accounts and liaise with external accountants
  • Digitally file financial documents and provide admin support
Required Skills and Experience
  • Prior experience in bookkeeping or accounts support
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
  • Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis)
