Job description
Overview

We believe that businesses of all sizes deserve better financial and payment products and services. Traditionally, businesses are let down by slow applications, protracted onboarding, opaque pricing, restrictive contracts and outdated solutions that do not meet the innovative requirements of modern business.

We started our journey four years ago and have since helped tens of thousands of Australian businesses reduce the complexity and time taken to take and make payments, manage fleets of payment hardware, store and save money, and lead the conversation in business-to-business fintech. We’re now expanding our industry-leading capabilities into the United Kingdom.

Our company is backed by leading global VCs and brings together experienced payment and tech industry professionals who aim to redefine business banking and the way businesses get paid by their customers. If you are passionate, curious, hungry and seeking an opportunity to make your mark on Fintech in the United Kingdom, with the strength of a global team behind you — we’d love to talk to you. This is a unique opportunity to shape, direct and build better financial services for UK businesses.

Zeller is searching for the founding members of our UK-based sales team. As an Account Executive, you’ll be challenged to bring a hands-on approach, expert commercial acumen, self-starter experience and competitive fire to help build a high-performing team culture.

We believe that building a long-lasting relationship is Zeller’s key to success. You’ll do this by engaging with merchants in a relevant and authentic way. Our merchants come in all shapes and sizes; from butchers and baristas to bar owners and beauticians, retailers and restaurateurs, and more. Every day will be different, and you’ll thrive on going above and beyond to support your merchants, advocate for their needs, and help them grow.

This position is hands-on; you’ll be experienced selling face-to-face (field sales / door-to-door), while performing cold outreach to build pipeline. Your discovery process involves deeply understanding their requirements in order to position Zeller as the best option to supercharge their payments and cash flow.

This role is ideal for an energetic, highly motivated Account Executive who is looking to make an immediate impact on Zeller’s entry into the UK. You’re a natural problem solver who is motivated by developing processes while executing in parallel. We’re excited to meet people ready to join us and help establish Zeller as one of the UK’s most exciting new B2B fintechs.

Responsibilities
  • Prospecting to small, medium and large-sized businesses across a variety of sectors to close deals and exceed individual bookings and revenue targets
  • Outbound lead-generation via cold-calling, email, field sales (door-to-door). You will review and optimise your lead-gen performance to ensure you are meeting your pipeline requirements
  • Build a deep understanding of merchants’ pain points, translating their complex requirements into simple, attractive payment solutions
  • Deeply understand the Zeller product suite through ongoing training and education
  • Meticulous management of pipeline within Hubspot, maintaining outstanding hygiene at all times
  • Own the full sales cycle including planning, outreach, qualifying, presentation, negotiation, closing, and (where relevant) implementing and after-sales support
  • Deliver an outstanding first impression for Zeller's merchants by using storytelling, case studies, or relevant industry news to inspire them and demonstrate your expertise
  • Develop and present commercially sound deals across a wide variety of customer use cases, verticals, and complex economics
  • Collaborate closely with Zeller teams in the UK and globally to share case studies, product feedback and pain points, ensuring you advocate for your client’s needs
  • Be a constructive team member to help build and solidify the new sales team culture for Zeller in the UK
What you bring to the role
  • A proven seller, with 1+ years of hands-on experience in a closing role and a track record of exceeding individual KPIs
  • A strong commercial mindset and demonstrated ability to successfully manage and grow revenue
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), persistence, and a strong ability to build rapport with merchants to negotiate and close deals
  • Demonstrable experience in prospecting, identifying target merchants, evaluating interest, recognising decision-making processes, qualifying, creating value-based demonstrations, selling complex solutions, writing proposals, objection handling and negotiating
  • A genuine curiosity and passion about people and their business that will enable you to inspire and share their stories with others
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or at a distance from your team
  • A rare competitive fire and desire to win
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a highly collaborative work style
  • Agile, ambitious, and motivated to be the best at what you do
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a large volume of tasks, responsibilities and deadlines
  • A healthy entrepreneurial spirit
  • Experience with Hubspot or similar CRMs, Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides), and other sales tools (Lusha, Sales Navigator)
  • Tertiary education, or a track record of relevant experience that proves it isn’t needed
Like the rest of the team, you’ll benefit from
  • An opportunity to shape and build the future of Zeller from the ground up in the UK
  • A competitive salary package, including equity from an early stage
  • A balanced, progressive, and supportive work environment
  • Endless learning and development opportunities
  • Excellent parental leave and other leave entitlements
  • Being part of a fast-growing and ambitious scale-up

We celebrate diverse perspectives and experiences, and strongly encourage people of all backgrounds and identities to apply to join our team.
