Department:Academy
Report to: Head of Children's Academy / Head of Youth Academy
Location: Oriam - Scotland's Sports Performance Centre, Edinburgh, EH14 4AS, and away fixture venues.
Salary: Competitive salary plus excellent employee benefits.
Hours: Part-time, 12 hours per week.

3 nights training per week, and one weekend matchday. Days and timings subject to change depending on the Academy training and matchday schedule.

Heart of Midlothian Football Club, a cornerstone of Scottish football since 1874, is entering an exciting new chapter - and we want you to be part of it. We have an exciting opportunity for an Academy Coach to work within our Elite Academy.

We are recruiting for 2 coaching roles, one working with our Children's Academy and the other working with our Youth Academy. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with Elite Football Academy coaching experience who is passionate about developing talented young players.

Academy Coach Responsibilities:
  • Work with the assigned age group at training and on matchdays.
  • Plan and deliver high quality and engaging training sessions.
  • Understand and implement the academy game model and Hearts position specific criteria.
  • Assess and monitor player progress, in line with individual player development plans.
  • Deliver iterative feedback to players and their parents/carers, adhering to academy review guidelines.
  • Reflect and evaluate training sessions and coaching style, to continuously develop as a coach.
Experience, Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Scottish FA Advanced Children's Licence or enrolled on the course (Children's Academy role).
  • UEFA Elite Youth License or UEFA A License or enrolled on the course (Youth Academy role).
  • Currently based in Edinburgh or can reliably commute to Edinburgh and other matchday locations.
  • Able to evidence the Legal right to work in the UK.
  • Valid UK driving license.
  • Able to commit to working 3 mid-week evening training sessions per week, and one weekend matchday depending upon the Academy schedule.
