2854 - Recycling Coordinator - Ashburton

Enviro NZ is focused on making it easier for New Zealanders to shift to a more sustainable way of life. We do this by delivering waste and recycling solutions that make a difference.

About the role:

Our close-knit Ashburton team is looking for a customer focussed Recycling Coordinator to join our team on a fixed term basis until June 2026. This is your chance to showcase your skills and prove yourself for potential continuity with the incoming company once the contract transitions.

This is a varied role where you'll provide customer service in the Recycle Yard and support maintaining the operation of 10 Canterbury Satellite Sites, including the Methven and Rakaia Recycling Recovery Parks. Responsibilities include driving company vehicles for waste collection, bin deliveries, recovering items from illegal dumping and record keeping of actions undertaken.

You’ll interact professionally with visitors to the Recycle Yard, accept re-use items from customers, and ensure the site remains tidy and well organised.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Class 1 Full licence (class 2 would be an advantage) with F endorsement preferred however training will be provided for the right candidate
  • Proven face to face customer service experience
  • Have working knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety and its importance
  • Be friendly, respectful and professional at all times.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake a Pre-Employment Health Assessment (including drug test) and complete a Ministry of Justice criminal records check, the results of which must be to EnviroNZ's satisfaction. Applicants must also have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
