Job summary

A growing IT support company is seeking a 1st Line IT Support Technician in Lancaster. You will serve as the initial contact for client support, handle routine technical issues, and assist with Microsoft 365 support. Candidates should have over a year of experience in a support role and a solid understanding of Windows OS and basic networking. Salary: £26,000 - £29,000

Role Overview

Join a growing IT support team as a 1st Line IT Support Technician, providing friendly, responsive help to business users and resolving basic technical issues across desktops, laptops, cloud services and network devices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the first point of contact for client support requests (phone, ticketing system, remote tools)
  • Diagnose and resolve routine issues with users' hardware, software and connectivity
  • Perform password resets, account setup and basic Microsoft 365 support
  • Record, prioritise and escalating tickets accurately to 2nd Line where required
  • Assist with device imaging, setups and deployed equipment
  • Support proactive monitoring and routine tasks to maintain service health
Skills & Experience
  • 1+ years' experience in a support role or relevant IT environment
  • Good understanding of Windows OS, Microsoft 365 & common business applications
  • Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, VPN)
  • Strong communicator with a customer-focused mindset
  • Comfortable working in a small team supporting multiple clients
