Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy in the United Kingdom is seeking a Contractor's Responsible Engineer (CRE) to oversee design and construction in the rail sector. Ideal candidates will have extensive rail experience, especially in North-West rail, and will be responsible for project oversight, compliance, and risk management. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams. The position involves working on-site in Cheadle and Central London 2–3 days a week.

Qualifications

  • BEng or equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Electrical and Electronic, or Communications.
  • Extensive experience in the rail industry.
  • Proven experience in managing complex rail systems.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all engineering activities within a specific discipline.
  • Manage the design process and coordinate designs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and client requirements.
  • Identify and manage technical risks.
