Job description

Skanska, one of the world’s leading project development and construction groups, is an inclusive and responsible business that is helping to build a better society.

We are looking for a Procurement Manager to join our infrastructure team located in Kent. The purpose of the role is to develop the procurement strategy across Skanska’s Kent Roads’ section of the Lower Thames Crossing.

What you’ll do:
  • Development of package procurement strategies to clearly demonstrate and seek approval from stakeholders on how a product/service will be procured.
  • Undertake tendering activity to select suppliers based upon criteria which is relevant to the customers and Skanska’s objectives.
  • Procurement and management of a portfolio of sub-contract packages/categories through strategic supplier selection and supplier relationship management.
  • Draft recommendations and business cases for approval of supply chain selection and draft, negotiate, and execute agreements/contracts to secure deals.
  • Promote Procurement and framework adoption to stakeholders and work with suppliers to gather supplier market intelligence.
  • Keep records up to date including agreement details, category plan/procurement schedule, savings reporting and agreement intranet pages.
  • Support and contribute to pre-construction activities and work winning activities including bid writing to secure future projects.
What you’ll bring to the role:
  • Experience of the supply chain marketplace knowledge and network.
  • Experience of line management.
  • Experience of stakeholder management.
  • Computer literate in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and purchasing systems.
