Job summary
A community-focused music organization is seeking a Rock Choir Leader to lead fun and engaging choir sessions across Cornwall. This role is perfect for passionate musicians who want to inspire others through music, encouraging participation regardless of background or experience. Responsibilities include leading rehearsals, teaching unique contemporary arrangements, and conducting performances. No conducting experience is necessary, and a full driver's license with a car is required to facilitate travel to different locations.
Qualifications
- Must be a professional musician with singing and piano/keyboard skills.
- No previous conducting experience needed.
- Must have a full driver's license and own a car.
Responsibilities
- Lead weekly choir rehearsals.
- Teach contemporary arrangements engagingly.
- Conduct performances and events.
- Create an uplifting environment for all participants.

A Rock Choir Leader is the heart and soul of a local Rock Choir group — they’re the ones who lead rehearsals, bring the energy, and make the magic happen! A Rock Choir Leader is a professional musician (a singer with piano/keyboard skills) who:
- Leads weekly choir rehearsals
- Teaches our unique Contemporary arrangements in an engaging, accessible way
- Brings fun, energy, and encouragement to every session
- Creates a safe and uplifting environment where anyone can enjoy singing - no matter what their background or experience in music is
- Conducts performances, local gigs, and larger events like arena shows or media appearances
- Choirs run Monday – Thursday
- 2 Friday meetings/term
- 3 Training courses/year
- Occasional performances outside of the usual teaching week
- Car and full drivers licence
- Keyboard
- PA System
- Head Mic
