Job summary

Grade 5 – £26,403 for 20 hours per week term time only for 45.8 weeks per annum equating to £12,536.49 pro rata rising to 46.8 weeks, £13,149.47 pro rata per annum after 5 years service.

We are looking for a Design Technology Technician to provide support to our extensive Design Technology Department. The Department comprises 3 workshops, 1 Textiles area, 2 Food Technology areas and 2 Graphics / Design areas, with 6 Teaching Staff.

The successful candidate will have experience in a Design Technology environment with specific skills in Engineering disciplines desirable. NVQ 2 or equivalent qualification or experience in Design Technology/Engineering. Very good numeracy and literacy skills and specific training in the use and maintenance of machinery for Design Technology and knowledge of CAD/CAM systems would be an advantage.

Responsibilities
  • Support the teacher in the classroom.
  • Prepare materials for lessons.
  • Accept deliveries and store materials.

This physically demanding role is vital to the smooth running of the Technology Department.
