We have an exciting new opportunity for a Yard Supervisor to join our team at our plant in Devizes. This role is a fast-paced, dynamic and extremely varied role. Key Responsibilities
Yard Supervision
  • Supervise all yard operations, ensuring efficient movement of materials, vehicles, and personnel.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly yard to support health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Coordinate with the plant, transport, and site teams to ensure smooth loading and dispatch operations.
  • Monitor incoming and outgoing deliveries, ensuring proper documentation and quality checks.
  • Report maintenance needs or hazards and ensure compliance with site safety rules.
  • Assist in the training and oversight of yard staff and contractors.
Shovel Operation
  • Safely operate the loading shovel to move materials, load trucks, and maintain aggregate bays.
  • Conduct pre-use inspections and basic maintenance of the shovel.
  • Ensure correct materials are loaded according to customer/site requirements.
  • Minimise material contamination and spillage during operation.
  • Follow instructions from weighbridge or plant control regarding loads and stockpile movements.
Who you are
  • Experience working within the construction materials industry is highly desirable
  • Excellent health and Safety knowledge.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a yard, plant, or construction environment.
  • Valid loading shovel ticket (e.g., NPORS or CPCS) – essential.
  • Strong understanding of site safety, manual handling, and plant operation.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience in operating mobile plant, ideally a Front-end loading shovel
