Job description

Our organisation Reengage is a charity that helps reduce social isolation and supports people to make new friendships at any age. Our remit is 75+ as impact data shows social circles tend to diminish around this time of life. We are a volunteer-led organisation and anyone 18+ can apply to be a volunteer with us. Opportunities include hosts and coordinators for tea parties, activity leads for activity groups, and drivers to help older people get to tea parties and activities. All volunteer roles are engaging and rewarding.

Overview

Become a tea party host. As a tea party host, you’ll host a tea party in your home or setting once or twice a year, providing refreshments for the older guests, volunteer drivers, and the tea party group coordinator.

Responsibilities

• Host a tea party in your home or arranged setting (approximately twice a year, typically on a Sunday afternoon).

• Provide refreshments and ensure a welcoming, friendly environment for invited guests.

• Coordinate with the tea party group coordinator and, if applicable, volunteer drivers to support attendee participation.

• Each tea party group usually lasts around two hours.

• Contribute to building friendship and reducing social isolation among older adults.
