Join our dedicated Patient Experience and Voluntary Services Team andmake a real difference in your community. We are looking for compassionate andreliable volunteer drivers to help deliver essential medication and equipmentdirectly to patients homes, ensuring they receive the care they need when theyneed it.

This role is vital in supporting patients who may be unable to collectitems themselves, helping improve their experience and wellbeing. You'll be apart of a friendly and supportive team committed to providing outstandingservice.

You will need:

Afull, clean driving license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Abilityto travel across Barnsley and occasionally to other local sites.

Goodcommunication skills and a caring attitude.

Mileage expenses will be reimbursed, and full training will beprovided. If you want to give back to your community and play a key role inpatient care, wed love to hear from you!

Main duties of the job

VolunteerDrivers play a crucial role in supporting patient discharge and continuityofcare by delivering urgent medications and equipment directly to patientshomes. This service helps reduce delays in discharge and supports the Trustscommitment to excellent patient experience and efficient patient flow.

Afull UK driving license and safe driving skills.

Reliabilityin collecting and delivering items at scheduled times (typically 4pm and 6pm, Monday to Sunday)

Abilityto handle confidential and sensitive items with discretion.

Willingnessto adapt to changing schedules or requirements.

Calmresponse to unexpected situations (e.g. delays, emergencies, route changes)

Clear,polite, and professional communication with patients, carers, and staff

Commitmentto upholding the Trusts values and behaviours

Presentableappearance, wearing name badge and uniform

Abilityto work both independently and as part of a team

Willingnessto undertake mandatory and role-specific training

  • Dedicated to upholding the Values and Behaviours of the Organisation
  • Familiar with, and adhere to, the policies and procedures of the Trust, and their area of work
  • Willing to undertake training, including mandatory and role specific training, relevant to their role and ensure it is renewed as required.
  • Clean, smart and of a presentable appearance, wearing name badge and uniform at all times.
  • Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
