Hospital Veterinary Surgeon – South West London

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced GP hospital vet with a medicine bias to join a thriving 24-hour veterinary hospital. This role is perfect for a vet with a few years’ experience who is ready to take on more responsibility within a dynamic hospital setting.

The Role

This full-time position is based on a 4-day working week, with a fair weekend rota of 1:3 Saturdays and 1:10 Sundays. There are no on-call requirements, and the rota includes up to two bank holidays per year. The role will involve a balance of consultations, surgery, and inpatient care, along with advanced responsibilities such as overseeing the running of the hospital floor and supporting junior colleagues. Leadership training is also available for those wishing to develop management skills.

The Hospital

The hospital provides a varied caseload, ranging from routine procedures to emergency and critical care, with internal referrals from surrounding practices. The team works closely with visiting specialists in orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, cardiology, and physiotherapy, offering exposure to an exciting mix of cases.

Fully equipped to RCVS Accredited Hospital standards, the hospital also holds an ISFM Silver Award for Cat Friendly Clinics. The successful candidate will be supported by a highly experienced team of vets, a growing team of RVNs and trainee nurses, and onsite clinical management.

The Location

Situated in a vibrant village-style setting in South West London, the hospital is just a 10-minute walk from a major London transport hub, offering excellent connections across the capital. The area combines the charm of a picturesque community with quick access to the city’s hotspots.
