The responsibilities include but are not limited to transporting, removing, delivering, and collecting diverse liquid and solid hazardous wastes from different locations. Additionally, the successful candidate will be required to assist with swamping and undertake various physical tasks to support the team. This role also provides the opportunity to operate a wide range of vac trucks and gain experience with high pressure pumps and equipment.***This will be an on call position and a Unionized position. Benefits are provided through the Union. We respond to calls 24/7 365 days a year. Applicants must be willing to be on call and respond with no notice.* **Specific Duties and Responsibilities:***** Participate in daily pre-job safety meetings and risk assessments.* Read, understand and follow company procedures for safe work practices.* Assist crew members with rigging in/out of and completing jobs.* Ability to work at heights, such as from ariel work platforms or scaffolding.* Able to perform confined space entry work.* Regular use of respiratory protection is required and requires workers to be clean shaven.* Regular heavy lifting is required.* Interacts with customer and provides excellent company representation.* Assist operators by spotting equipment into position* Ensure tools and equipment are in good working condition at all times.* Performs minor repairs to equipment as needed and discussed with site Supervisor* Follows GFL Environmental Solutions policies and procedures.* Maintain and use appropriate personal protective equipment.* Any other duties as assigned.****Requirements***** Be eligible to work in Canada;* Excellent English reading/writing comprehension.* Have their own transportation to and from work. Clean drivers abstract is a benefit.* Willing and able to travel out of town, throughout B.C. and Alberta for projects during our Busy seasons (spring and fall) and as needed.* Must reside in the area for which they are applying. This is not a fly in/out position.* Experience in the industry or a similar industry is an asset but we will train the right people if the above conditions are met.*We thank you for your interest.
