Job Description

We looking for an experienced Transport professional to supervise the operation based at our Rugby Depot. This role will oversee the transport plans, meet customer demand and supervise transport planners to achieve SLA's.

Working hours: Monday - Friday 07:30 - 17:30

Salary: £28,571.40 per annum

Key Duties of a Transport Coordinator:

Working in collaboration with the Transport Manager the role is responsible for the day to day operation of the site and driver workforce, ensuring:

  • Delivery of the organisational requirements relating to drivers, depot and yard staff
  • Attendance and coordination of first line HR matters relating to depot and driver workforce in conjunction with Transport Manager
  • Standards of maintenance of company assets and the depot are delivered
  • Support to the Transport Manager in delivering continuous improvement initiatives through effective data analysis and communication
  • Take ownership for identifying issues and seeks to provide resolutions
  • Responsibility for the reporting and escalation of vehicle and trailer defects to the fleet department and any key stakeholders
  • Completing daily risk assessments of the yard and office by undertaking a depot walk around
  • Working Time Directive for the driver workforce to maintain depot legal compliance
  • Recording and following through DVSA stops
  • Pro‑active coordination of driver CPC records, ensuring compliance is supported via internal training provision
  • Upkeep of depot vehicle allocation including decom, additions and relocations
  • VOR notification
  • Driver holiday request submissions
  • Involved and takes ownership for carrying out D&G and first stage investigations
  • Ensuring all personnel files are up to date incorporating licence validation, personal details, completed training
  • Validating all weekly expense claims from drivers and prepare them for authorisation Ensuring all training needs are met for drivers (including inductions, re‑training, SSW and annual appraisals)
  • Administering the vehicle and trailer maintenance programme, (including servicing, MOTs, VOR, weekly cab checks and maintaining all records)
  • Carrying out accident investigation and follow up
  • Promote company Health & Safety and employment policies within the transport operation.
  • Collaboratively work with and take ownership for site along with the Transport Manager to ensure audit KPI’s are met
  • Ensuring all personnel files are up to date incorporating licence validation, personal details, completed training.
  • Supervising the debrief process ensuring driver vehicle checks, WTD, pallets, signatures and PODs are correctly dealt with.
