Are you a passionate and experienced neonatal nurse ready to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Lead Nurse for our Transitional Care Unit who will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of neonatal care. As the TCU Lead Nurse, you will oversee the day‑to‑day operations of TCU ensuring the highest standards of care for newborns and their families. You will lead a dedicated team of nurses and support staff, collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals, and drive service improvements that enhance patient outcomes and family experiences.
In our Trust, we have over 3,500 members of staff who are proud to care for nearly half a million people across the Borough of Hillingdon. Our mission is to provide high quality, safe and compassionate care, improving the health and wellbeing of the people we serve.
This is an excellent opportunity to lead a well established 6‑bed Transitional Care Unit (TCU) at Hillingdon Hospital. TCU is a part of the Neonatal Unit (NNU) and is located in Alexandra ward, a postnatal ward. The TCU Lead Nurse will provide expert clinical leadership and operational oversight of the TCU. This role is pivotal in ensuring that babies who require additional support after birth can remain with their mothers, promoting family integrated care and reducing unnecessary neonatal admissions.
The postholder will lead a team of nurses and support staff, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and drive service improvements aligned with national and local maternity transformation goals. The TCU Lead Nurse is responsible for utilising specialist skills and expertise to provide high standards of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised care pathways. The postholder is also responsible for contributing to the management and coordination of the transitional care service, including resource management, and providing leadership and supervision to others.
