Trading Standards Enforcement Officer
Location: Trafford Town Hall, Talbot Road, Stretford, Manchester, M32 0TH – Hybrid working.
Salary: Band 7, £37,280 – £39,862 per annum
Working Pattern: Full Time
Working Hours: 36.25 hours per week (flexible working available 7am‑9pm; part‑time/reduced hours negotiable)
Contract type: Permanent

Trafford’s Trading Standards team is part of a larger group of Regulatory Services, all co‑located at Trafford Town Hall. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual able to work on their own initiative, but also as part of a team; using a range of innovative problem‑solving enforcement tactics to protect our Trafford residents.
The primary role of the Trading Standards Team is to conduct regulatory and enforcement functions in the areas of product safety, consumer protection, fair trading, metrology, underage sales, renters rights and animal feedstuffs.
The Trading Standards team are crucial to the Council meeting its statutory requirements in the above areas and the team provides specialist knowledge and advice in these topics.
This role offers the flexibility of hot desking / home working together with field‑based work.
