Job TitleTooling TechnicianLocationWokingAs part of the Manufacturing Engineering and Launch team reporting to the Production Steering Manager, we are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Systems and Tooling Technician to lead and oversee the implementation of world-class operational strategies within our automotive manufacturing division. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and driving operational efficiency across a large-scale production environment. As the Systems and Tooling Technician, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing strategies that optimize processes, enhance productivity, and improve quality, ensuring that our manufacturing operations with the McLaren Production Centre (MPC) remain at the forefront of the industry.We are committed to integrating the latest technology to enhance our manufacturing processes and deliver high-quality products to our customers. To achieve this the successful candidate will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and maintaining advanced tooling systems, with a primary focus on electronic digitally connected torque wrenches. This position requires a deep understanding of the latest manufacturing technologies and a passion for continuous improvement.* Tooling Maintenance and Optimization: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electronic digitally connected torque wrenches and other advanced tooling systems to ensure optimal functionality.* Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to tooling equipment and processes, minimizing downtime and ensuring continuous production flow.* Technology Integration: Collaborate with engineering and production teams to integrate the latest manufacturing technologies into existing systems, enhancing productivity and quality.* Documentation: Create and update documentation for tooling maintenance procedures, protocols, and system configurations.* Quality Assurance: Ensure all tooling systems meet industry standards and company quality requirements, conducting regular inspections and calibrations.* Training and Support: Provide training and technical support to production staff on the proper use and maintenance of electronic torque wrenches and other tooling equipment.* Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance tooling performance and manufacturing efficiency.Personal attributes:* Highly motivated, resilient, assertive and process / data driven.* Dynamic, with the ability to respond to challenging situations in an innovative manner.* Clear Communication Skills: Effective communication is essential.
