Job summary

A leading technology firm in Kintore is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to provide technical assistance for projects, manage design reviews, and lead operational planning. The ideal candidate will possess a BSc/BEng or equivalent in mechanically biased subjects and have experience in electrical systems. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently while being a team player are essential. This role requires excellent communication skills and familiarity with Microsoft tools. A commitment to quality and safety is expected.

Qualifications

  • Experience in technical support for projects with familiarity in design reviews.
  • Ability to manage operational site planning and field support.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for projects and manage design reviews.
  • Monitor reliability and manage preventative maintenance programs.
  • Assist in training and stock management as needed.

Skills

Micro-hydraulic system knowledge and experience
Electrical & Electronics experience
Good technical writing skills
IT Skills – MS Office
Microsoft AX12 experience

Education

BSc / BEng or equivalent in Mechanically biased subjects
Extensive experience (3 years or more) in a similar role
Experience of STATS products and processes
Relevant Oil & Gas industry experience

  • RTP Global Support.

  • Remote Systems Team Lead, Technical Support Engineer, Remote Systems Technicians, Project Engineers, Design Team, Field & Workshop Teams.
External relationships
  • Client, Client Contractors, 3rd Party Inspectors, Suppliers and Sub-contractors.
Main Responsibilities

Technical Support for Projects

  • Design Reviews
  • Operational (Site) Planning
  • NCI support
  • Field Support / On Call
  • Client Meeting Support (HAZOP/HAZID/Kick Off Meetings)
  • Battery Calculations
  • Configuration Sheets
  • Attend design/operations meetings
  • Creation
  • Revision
  • Development
  • Standardisation

Product Development

  • Input to, and review of, product development activities
  • Management of the preventative maintenance programmes for control systems
  • Reliability Monitoring
  • Design Support

Remote Systems Department Support

  • Stock Management
  • Assist with training as required.
  • Create manufacturing requests as required.
  • Create ERFs/ECRs as required.
  • Management of CAPEX Projects
  • Management of Upgrade Projects
  • Asset Allocation
Individual Quality and Safety Responsibilities
  • Comply with STATS and Client quality, safety and environmental management systems and procedures.
  • Ensure all accidents, incidents, near misses, hazards are immediately reported, and relevant paperwork is completed.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with company and project quality procedures and processes.

  • Environmental Awareness
  • STATS Internal Courses – Basic Level
Experience / Competence / Skills / Knowledge
  • Micro-hydraulic system knowledge and experience.
  • Electrical & Electronics experience.
  • Good technical writing skills.
  • Strong knowledge of STATS remote systems range (only applicable if the successful candidate is internal) which includes:
    • Remote Tecno Plugs
    • Through Pipewall communications systems
    • Subsea communications systems
    • Tecno Plug tracking systems
    • Mobilisation Kits
    • Tecno Plugs
  • IT Skills – MS office – Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Project.
  • Microsoft AX12 experience.
Qualifications
  • BSc / BEng or equivalent in Mechanically biased subjects.
    • Alternatively, extensive experience (3 years or more) in a similar role.
  • Time Served, Experienced Technician with experience of similar hardware.
  • Experience of STATS products and processes would be beneficial.
  • Relevant Oil & Gas industry experience or similar engineering industry experience.

  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic, team player, but be able to work using own initiative.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage workload.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Efficient workflow management.
